Abbotsford CIVL radio hires videographer / film crew for documentary – Abbotsford News

Abbotsford’s CIVL 101.7 FM, which is the campus and community radio station of the University of the Fraser Valley, has received $ 50,000 in project grants from the Community Radio Fund of Canada (CRF).

The grant project provides for the production of a 20-year retrospective video documentary production between September 2021 and August 2022.

CIVL has created a Request for Proposal for the project, which will see applicants create a documentary series based on the history of the station and its ongoing operations.

The selected candidate will also produce three training videos documenting the current CIVL orientation lectures / presentations and create video content on social media.

According to the PD, the project includes conducting 50 one-hour interviews with volunteers, founders, partners, stakeholders and CIVL staff over the past two decades (including NCRA staff). At least one interview per week will be broadcast in audio format only on CIVL at the end of this project from September 2022.

From these interviews, an overview of the history and organizational direction of the CIVL will be shaped for the video production. Further interviews will provide deeper context, historical narrative, and alternative perspectives. The selections / sections from these interviews will be video edited to form parts of the content of the video documentary.

The project budget is $ 47,500 and expenses of $ 2,500 are also allocated to the candidate. The CIVL added that it would negotiate additional compensation to the successful candidate for a percentage share with the station of all profits and / or income related to sponsorship and / or sale of the finished production.
