Neil Gaiman provides an update on Amazon Prime’s adaptation of Anansi Boys, saying it would take “almost a year” to complete post-production.

Author Neil Gaiman took to Twitter to provide fans with an update on the progress of the Amazon Prime Video adaptation of Anansi Boys. Based on the bestselling 2005 novel of the same name, the series follows the twin sons of the Ghanaian trickster god Anansi, or Mr. Nancy. Although not directly related to the american gods series, the character of Mr. Nancy appeared in this particular adaptation played by Orlando Jones. In Anansi Boysthe role of the trickster god should be played by Delroy Lindo.

More recently, a fan on Twitter asked Gaiman if the Anansi Boys the series has a scheduled air date. The author responded by stating that the filming of the show was not finished until the end of May and that it would take “almost a year” to complete the editing and visual effects on the finished product. Once this is completed, Gaiman suggested that it would then be up to Prime Video to determine a final Anansi Boys release date. Check out his original post below.

While this may be disappointing news for Gaiman fans looking to see his bestselling novel come to life, there’s sure to be plenty of material to keep eager viewers entertained until then. Netflix’s own adaptation of Gaiman’s beloved comic book series The sand man is slated to hit screens in August this year, and there’s also good omens season 2, which is also expected to return to Prime Video in the not-too-distant future. As one of the world’s most prolific modern authors, it’s no wonder there are so many works by Gaiman, like Anansi Boysmaking its way to screens, and the new series should be another beloved adaptation.

A baby aardvark has been born at the San Diego Zoo, the first in nearly four decades.

The cute cub was born to parents Zola and Azaan on May 10 at 4 pounds. She has since rapidly grown to 13 pounds, zoo staff said in a statement.

“We are thrilled to have this little cub in our care,” Cari Inserra, chief wildlife care specialist at the San Diego Zoo, said in a statement. “She is very active and used her sharp claws to dig like an adult aardvark, just hours after birth.”

The zoo said the cub rarely leaves its mother’s side and will stay in an “out of sight habitat” with her for two months to allow them to bond. The mother will then decide to take the baby outside when she is ready.

“Zola is an excellent mother and frequently breastfeeds her calf…We look forward to being able to introduce the calf to our zoo guests, helping them learn more about this remarkable species,” Inserra said.

Aardvarks are nocturnal animals native to sub-Saharan Africa. Their diet consists mainly of insects.

They have “pig-like snouts, long, strong tails, and poor eyesight, but a very keen sense of smell,” according to the zoo.

A TikToker reportedly came across a mysterious house fire in an abandoned neighborhood in Ohio.

A young TikTok creator visited a creepy abandoned neighborhood near Columbus, Ohio called Whitehall. It is unusual but not uncommon to find a completely empty neighborhood where nature has taken over man-made structures. However, one key factor of this abandoned area is very different from the others. This area was left to the critters in 2019. It was actually a thriving suburb for decades. Most of the homes you see in the photos and video below were built in the 1950s. The very clean, crime-free neighborhood of Woodcliff in Whitehall, Ohio took a turn in the late 1980s according to architectureafterlife.com,

Growing tensions, along with housing seeing few updates going into the 21st century, have caused more problems for Woodcliff’s future. Drug problems arose, bringing more crime to the streets of the neighborhood.

Mysterious fire in an abandoned neighborhood in Ohio

Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so, you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.

We don’t know how the fire started. There are theories in the comments of the original TikTok. One theory is that the person filming started the fire themselves. Obviously, we have no proof of this and are pointing no fingers. Anyway, it’s strange.

The Columbus Dispatch uploaded drone video of the ransacked neighborhood to YouTube in March. They say the neighborhood has been bought up and will soon be demolished.

A video shows a marble machine in “perpetual” motion.

The context

Although these are authentic images of a genuine product, the “perpetual” bead machine does not run indefinitely without an additional power source. Instead, it uses batteries and a magnet to create the illusion that marbles can perpetually move through the contraption.

Fact check

In May 2022, a video purporting to show a “perpetual” moving ball machine was shared in the “Be Amazed” section of Reddit. The video, which showed a marble spiraling down a funnel, falling through a hole, moving along a curved track, then re-throwing into the funnel where the process would begin again, drew some skeptical comments. After all, a perpetual motion machine is impossible, because it break at least one of the first two laws of thermodynamics.

Our first inclination when we saw this video was that its creators used digital animation. We came across several similar seemingly “impossible” videos featuring colored ball sorters and musical marbles that used computer-generated technology. The final video purporting to depict the “perpetual” marble machine, however, was authentic footage and featured a physical product.

But a perpetual motion machine? No, this example of gadget did not upset our understanding of the world. Instead, batteries and a magnet created the illusion that the marble could move perpetually through the contraption.

These marble machines were available for purchase at the time of writing this article. We found several versions of the product on Amazon and Etsy. You can search “perpetual marble machine” if you want to buy one for yourself.

Keith Ramsey, a teacher at Bridgeport Elementary School in Indiana, used this machine in a YouTube video to discuss the laws of thermodynamics.

Ramsey says:

A perpetual motion machine is a machine that continues to run without any loss of energy. Scientists agree that this is impossible due to the first and second laws of thermodynamics.

The first law of thermodynamics is the law of conservation of energy, which simply states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but rather transferred. For perpetual motion like this, the energy should stay with the machine. To create a perpetual motion machine, you would need a machine that has absolutely no friction, so no energy is wasted.

A clip from a White House event hosting members of US Olympic and Paralympic athletes has gone viral claiming President Joe Biden said ‘Don’t jump’ to athletes with disabilities as he and his guests posed for a photo .

Biden was two wheelchair athletes on stage, leading some to implicate him or outright accuse him of senility and incompetence.

It’s part of a larger, ongoing narrative where critics have accused the president of being unfit for office or senile, often using out-of-context or manipulated content to back up those claims.

Requirement

On May 4, 2022, the White House hosted Team USA Olympic and Paralympic athletes as part of an event celebrating their achievements.

A video clip shows the president posing with the athletes, including a number of Paralympians, before saying “Don’t jump”.

The comment was echoed by a number of conservative numbers and the media, some of whom have suggested he was talking to his guests or was unaware of his surroundings.

Facts

The viral video and subsequent accounts are misleading because they do not provide context surrounding Biden’s comment.

At the time, the athletes and the president had their pictures taken by photographers positioned on an elevated stage.

Photos from the event clearly show that the photos were taken above the waist of the president and his guests.

The president is also clearly heard afterwards saying, “He’s our photographer.”, pointing to someone off camera before making the comment in question.

Responding to NewsweekThe White House provided a report of the event which specified that the president was speaking to a photographer at a podium.

The report stated in particular:

“He had a laugh and cheers when he said, ‘You’ve been through so much.

“‘Look how you handle winning and losing,’ he said admiringly.

“Then he had what his presenter called some pretty awesome swag.

“‘Do not jump !’ he joked during the swag photo, adding, “He’s our photographer.”

Also, as some of the tweets may have suggested, the president wasn’t on stage with only Paralympians.

As can be heard in a recording of the eventthe president was joined by bobsledder Elana Meyers Taylor, speed skater Brittany Bowe, curler John Shuster, javelin thrower Kara Winger, para-triathlete Melissa Stockwell, para-alpine skiers Danelle Umstead and Tyler Carter , wheelchair rugby player Chuck Aoki and wheelchair basketball player. player Matt Scott.

Biden has made the “don’t jump” comment, a sort of running joke, at a number of events.

In March 2022, visiting the US 82nd Airborne Division in Poland, he made the same commentreferring to how paratroopers are trained to jump from an airplane.

In September 2021, in New York, addressing the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, where after talking to a seven-year-old child standing on a balcony, he said “And don’t jump!” (it was also questioned by conservative commentators).

At a March 2021 event in Washington DC, he told an audience watching him from the second floor of a bargain store “Don’t jump, we need you.

In October 2020, during a live news taping, speaking to an audience member standing atop the studio, Biden said: “Don’t jump, Cedric, you look like you’re up there.”

In August 2020, while meeting with first responders in Pittsburgh, the president was heckled from a nearby building, to which he responded “Don’t jump, don’t jump.”

While the comment at the White House could be seen as reckless or tone-deaf (Biden has previously called himself a “blunder machine”), the social media posts decrying him (which talk about an ongoing critical account of his jurisdiction) did not mention who Biden was talking to and where those people were.

The posts also fail to clarify the self-referential nature of this joke, including the many times the president has said “don’t jump” elsewhere.

decision

Fact Check - False

Fake.

The president was talking to a photographer standing on a platform above him. The “don’t jump” comment is something of a joke he made at a number of events where he was talking to people standing above him.

A video showing a religious procession where some people brandish guns is going viral on social media. The video has gone viral amid recent violence in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh.

On April 10, a curfew was imposed in Khargone after an alleged incident of throwing stones at a passing Ram Navami procession. The rock-throwing incident led to arson and the burning of vehicles. The police imposed Article 144, which prohibited the gathering of people across the city. Police have arrested 121 people so far for their involvement in the violence.

To claim:

The viral video shows a religious procession passing through the crowded streets of a city. As people in the crowd celebrate the procession, some people can be seen waving weapons such as small knives and homemade guns.

The caption of the video reads: “This is Khargone, where a procession of Ram Navami was stoned for playing music outside a mosque. This is right outside a temple. Notice the man with a gun by hand.”

The caption links the incident depicted in the video to communal clashes in Khargone. It is alleged that the crowd celebrations took place in the aftermath of the violent clashes.

Swati Goel Sharma, journalist at Swarajyamag, shared this video and wrote: “This is Khargone, where a procession of Ram Navami was stoned for playing music outside a mosque. This is just happening in front of a temple. Notice the man with a gun in his hand.”

It is widely shared on social media with a similar claim.

Fact check:

The Logical Indian Fact Check team verified the virus claim and found it misleading. The viral video is from 2018.

We skimmed through the video and noticed the banner of a grocery store in the background. The name of the store read: Maa Hinglaj General and Provisions Store.

Another poster in the background identifies where the video was shot. At the bottom of the Ganesh Chowk banner, Khargaon is mentioned. This confirms that the video was shot in Khargone.

We did a keyword search with relevant keywords such as “Khargone” and “Religious Celebrations”. After browsing through several videos, we came across the following video uploaded by YT user Aamir Khan MP10.

The video titled “Muslim Julus in Front of Mandir》Ek bar me it jayga har bar ka jaghda《Khargone Muharram” is similar to the viral video. The title translates to “Muslim Julus in front of the Mandir: the conflict would be destroyed in this case alone”.

The video was uploaded on September 25, 2018, indicating that the viral video is not from the recent clashes in Khargone.

Taking inspiration from the background information of the video, we narrowed down the location where the video was shot to Jamindar Mohalla Ganesh Chowk, Madhya Pradesh 451001.

Within this location, the Hinglaj Mata Mandir Khargone is also located. We came across images of the location on Google Maps, which date back to 2018. The structures and layouts in the screenshot and the Google Maps images are from the same location.

Conclusion:

The viral posts claim the video of a Muslim crowd celebrating in a religious procession, alleging it is from the recent Khargone incident. However, during our fact check, we found that the video dates back to at least September 2018. The video was shot at Jamindar Mohalla Ganesh Chowk, Madhya Pradesh 451001, located in Khargone. Therefore, the viral claim is false.

As reported by Variety, Ilana Glazer is the best choice to lead First videothe next series suck it. Described as “the benefit of [the] apocalypse, the After the party The actress would executive produce and star as Lydia, a Londoner determined to make the most of her last year on earth. While other plot details have yet to be shared, the premise sounds like a hedonistic good time, and who doesn’t love watching Glazer live in a big city? We can only hope that there will be phone wigs.

suck it was created by Ally Israelson, who previously wrote for the Jenna Fisher ABC sitcom Separate together and guilty party on Paramount+, featuring Kate Beckinsale. She was also an associate producer on the films All the bright places and Beatriz at dinner. Leo Pearlman, Jeff Grosvenor, Saskia Schuster and Susie Fox would join Glazer and Israelson as executive producers.

Glazer rose to fame as the co-lead and co-creator of the beloved series vast city starring Abbi Jacobson, which ran on Comedy Central for five seasons before its conclusion in 2019. She previously collaborated with Prime Video for the release of her first stand-up special. The planet is burning in 2020. She co-wrote and starred in the Hulu Original Horror Film False positive, released last year. Recently, Glazer was part of the after partythe star cast, alongside Tiffany Haddish, Ben Schwartz, Ike Barinholtz, Sam Richardson, John Early and Dave Franco; the Apple TV+ detective crime comedy has been renewed for a second season.

Apocalypse stories have, for some reason, remained a draw these days, along with movies Don’t look up, how it endsand silent night all released last year. The doomsday event at the heart of suck it is unknown at this time.

A video showing a group of men destroying a small shop and harassing and stripping a woman has gone viral on social media.

The video has gone viral amid growing violence around people’s eating habits, as recent violence between ABVP and JNU students indicates.

Claim:

The video shows a group of men using rods to uproot a structure that appears to be a small shop. Meanwhile, a woman protests against these men. The group of men then assault the woman by dragging her and stripping her. Others try to intervene but are also attacked.

The video went viral with the following claim:

#Atrocities Captioned video shows RSS gangsters beating and stripping a woman in the middle of the road in Pratapgarh, India. His offence? Do not close butcher shops despite threats from extremist groups. #DalitLivesMatter

[Trigger Warning: The Logical Indian has not embedded the video due to its graphic nature and strong language.]

The viral posts claim the captioned video shows RSS thugs beating and stripping a woman in the middle of the road in Pratapgarh, India. The video was shared amid violence by right-wing extremist meat eating groups.

It is widely shared on Facebook and Twitter with a similar claim.

Fact check:

The Logical Indian Fact Check team verified the virus claim and found it to be false. The viral video is linked to a land dispute.

We did a keyword search using Hindi terms, such as “प्रतापगढ़ महिला” (Pratapgadh woman). We came across the following report from ABP Live, which contains a snapshot of the viral video.

The report details the situation shown in the viral video and additional information. The incident happened a few meters from the police station in Mandhata, a village in Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh.

The article talks about a few men who took the law into their own hands and began to uproot a “gummyor kiosk. A woman has protested the destruction of the kiosk, which the article says is her source of income. The woman’s infant daughter rushes to help her but is beaten. Those who try to intervene in woman undressing are beaten up.

Following this, we did another keyword search which included Hindi terms such as “मंधाता” and “पिटाई” (Mandhata and Beating). We came across this Amarujala Report which provides more information about the assault on Anita Gupta and her daughters. The report describes Gupta as the leader of the local self-help group.

She had set up a kiosk near her previous residence, which led to a dispute between Gupta and a local resident Satyanaryan Soni. Soni and other men knocked down the gazebo on March 30, 2022.

Following the assault on Gupta, women from the self-help groups gathered outside the Mandhata police station on March 31, 2022. The women demanded justice for Gupta, which led to a confrontation between the police and the women.

We also came across this social media statement shared by Pratapgarh Police. In the video, the police commissioner explains that the violence between Gupta and Soni was caused by a land dispute. Mandhata Police Station has registered an FIR against the Soni after a complaint by the Guptas based on the section 504 (Intentional insult with intent to cause a breach of the peace) and article 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation).

FIR against three members of both families was registered under section 151 (gathering to disturb public order).

Logical Indian team contacted Mandhata Police Station Udayveer Singh. He said, “There is no RSS involvement in the incident as viral social media posts claim. The incident was a land dispute between the Gupta and Soni families. The Sonis had a residence behind the kiosk set up by Gupta; as a result, an obstruction was created for them. This led to a dispute between the two parties. Soni attempted to remove the gazebo and Gupta resisted, which ultimately led to the assault of Anita Gupta and her daughters. The investigation into this incident is ongoing..”

Conclusion:

Viral social media posts claim that RSS gangsters beat and stripped a woman in Pratapgarh, India. The video was shared claiming that right-wing extremist groups targeted a woman because she had not closed her shop, which sold meat.

In reality, the incident is a land dispute between Anita Gupta and Satyanaryan Soni and has no community angle. The investigation into Gupta’s assault is ongoing, according to authorities at Mandhata Police Station.

Stories of mermaid sightings date back nearly 7,000 years. While sea captains may have confused manatees (or even whale penises) with all sorts of mythical sea beasts, the legend of the mermaid has continued into the modern age through image editing. digital images, bad “science documentaries”, art sculptures and misidentified animal skeletons. .

In April 2022, a new “mermaid sighting” made waves on social media as users shared a video purporting to show one of these mythical creatures washing up on a beach in Kenya. (In other posts of the video, people claimed that this video was actually taken off the shores of South Africa.)

Officials in Kenya and South Africa said there had been no reports of a mermaid being found on the beach.

The first version of this video we could find was posted on TikTok on April 6 with the claim that a “real mermaid” had been “caught in Muizenberg, South Africa.” This video has been viewed over 8 million times.

@aamircali

A real mermaid captured in Muizenberg in South Africa🧜‍♀️🧜😳🤔

♬ original sound – Aamir Cali

We contacted the South African Police Service in Muizenberg for more information about this video. While many social media commenters wondered if this video actually showed something else – for example, a child who had been attacked by a fish – we also asked Muizenberg SAPS if there had been any reports of a child who died (or nearly died) from a fish attack.

A spokesperson said: “Please note that Muizenberg SAPS has no reports of a mermaid being washed up by the beach or of a child being bitten by a fish.”

While we haven’t been able to determine exactly what this video shows, it does not show a mermaid. In all likelihood, this video is a digitally altered composite containing authentic footage of a dying fish and digitally added footage of a child or doll. In fact, upon close examination of these images, you can see that the sand loses its texture as the arms of the “mermaid” move across the beach. At one point, the fingers even disappear, indicating that the “mermaid’s body” has been digitally inserted into this sequence:

As officials in Kenya and South Africa have disputed this report, as there are visual signs that this footage has been edited out, and as there has been no reporting of the absolutely historic and momentous discovery of a half-man half-fish siren species in Africa, we call this sequence “subtitled”.

A video of a fashion show has gone viral on social media. Social media users have alleged that the viral video shows a “Muslim army” marching through the streets of Kerala. Similar claims have gone viral in previous cases showing members of the Muslim Union of India League as part of a ‘Muslim army’.

Claim:

The video shows a procession with people dressed in military attire marching to the beat. People in blue uniforms appear to be carrying a banner with texts on it, and shouts of “Allahu Akbar” (God is the greatest) can be heard in the video.

A Twitter user, while sharing this video, wrote a caption that read, “You’d be wrong to think it’s Pakistan or Afghanistan. This is the Unity March of the SDPI – Kerala unit. Do you fear for your life? You should “.

The claim in the viral video reads: “Muslim private army marches in Kerala. Left front government is a silent spectator.

The video is going viral through Facebook as well, with a similar caption.

This claim indicates that the video shows an all-Muslim army marching through Kerala, which is portrayed as a threat to Hindus.

Fact check:

The Logical Indian Fact Check team verified the virus claim and found it to be false. The viral video is from 2020.

We watched the video closely and noticed that a banner is displayed in the opening shots of the video. After identifying the keyframe, we performed a reverse image search.
