Marilyn Manson’s lawyer alleges videographer “consented” to exposure to bodily fluids
The videographer who claims that Marilyn Manson assaulted her when he spat on her during a 2019 concert “agreed” to be exposed to the singer’s bodily fluids, according to the shock rocker’s lawyer.
As first reported in May, Manson reportedly spat at videographer Susan Fountain during a 2019 concert at the Bank of NH Pavilion in Gilford, NH. Fountain had been “contracted out by a company based in New Hampshire” to record the show.
Manson surrendered to the Los Angeles Police Department under an arrangement between New Hampshire officials and Manson’s attorney on Friday, July 2. The singer was then released on personal bail. Earlier this month, he pleaded “not guilty” to two counts of common assault.
According to court documents obtained by the Associated press, Manson’s attorney, Kent Baker, asserts that videographers at concerts such as Fountain are often subjected to “accidental contact”, that Fountain “has consented to be exposed to potential contact with sweat, saliva and skin. phlegm nearby ”and that“ any contact related spitting or sneezing was unintentional.
This despite the fact that video of the incident (below) shows Manson staring and spitting directly at Fountain’s lens:
If convicted, Manson faces up to a year in prison and a $ 2,000 fine on each charge.
The assault charges in New Hampshire are probably the least of Manson’s concerns at the moment, as he is also currently being sued by several ex-girlfriends for sexual assault, sexual violence, intentional assault of emotional distress, human trafficking. human rights and illegal imprisonment, among other charges.
Manson made his first public appearance since the allegations surfaced in August, joining Kanye West on stage at an event promoting the rapper’s new album, Donda. Manson would also have lent his voice to this record.
Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood – the shock rocker’s ex-fiancée and the woman who started the barrage of accusations against him – responded to Manson / Kanye’s news by performing a cover of New’s “Get What You Give” Radicals at a Hollywood nightclub, turning the bird upside down when the lyrics referred to the singer. She then dedicated the performance to “my fellow survivors who were slapped in the face this week”.
