As we continue to diversify our content and grow our audience, we are looking for a creative, confident and proactive Senior Videographer to join our team in Sydney!

The Senior Videographer will work closely with our in-house production team to lead our video productions on set and on set. They will also work with the Director and Production Manager to achieve the company’s long-term strategic goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism and demonstrate a creative and confident attitude towards their work.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a videographer
  • Adept at handling and using 6k RED and Black Magic camera equipment
  • Basic editing skills – briefing and working alongside an in-house editor
  • Drone license and ability to fly a Mavic Pro drone
  • Managing file storage and provisioning to client and internal team
  • Ability to interpret client briefs and apply to production
  • Experience in conducting interviews in front of the camera
  • Good organizational skills and strong personal motivation are essential characteristics
  • Able to work within deadlines and KPIs
  • Ability to travel domestically as needed
  • Although not essential, a network of independent resources with production and editing capabilities is considered beneficial
  • Although not essential, a basic knowledge or interest in the design industry is considered an advantage
  • Based in Sydney


  • Help direct on-set video productions for The Local Project with the content creation team and crew members – filming and directing
  • Oversee drone licenses or permits required for filming
  • Liaise with editor (whether in-house or freelance) when delivering video assets
  • Interpret the brief in a way that suits both The Local Project and the client
  • Meet deadlines imposed on The Local Project’s media schedule and third-party client media schedules
  • Delivery, storage and filing of all raw footage and final assets
  • Actively contribute to the planning of upcoming The Local Project media calendars with ideas, timelines and other relevant information
  • Keep up to date with required software and ensure local project machines are properly maintained and fit for purpose
  • Work alongside the editing and production teams and the director to achieve the company’s long-term strategic goals

Business skills

  • A basic understanding of architecture and the high-end design industry
  • Excellent ability to use supplied camera equipment to produce world-class architectural video productions
  • An ability to manage assistant videographer(s) as the team grows
  • A solid understanding of digital and social media, websites and print advertising
  • A good understanding of the YouTube platform, its terms and conditions
  • An ability to film at a consistently high level several days a week
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Master multitasker with an unwavering commitment to efficiency and quality
  • Strategic thinking, being able to find innovative solutions to succeed in the media landscape
