Start of role



This role is initially contractual (2-3 full days per week), with the intention of moving to a permanent part-time or full-time position after the first 2 months if that’s convenient for you.


This role can be flexible between working remotely or working from our beautiful Chippendale studio, depending on your preferences, equipment and abilities.

Your role

As a video editor / motion designer at Caravel, you will play a leading creative role in the post-production process of all our current and future projects. With the support of the rest of the team, you will be responsible for assembling video footage to tell authentic and focused stories, creating high quality and impactful video content. You will be encouraged to take this narrative content further by developing original graphics and bespoke video formats, depending on the needs of the customer and the delivery platform.

Main responsibilities

  • Ingest and select sequences
  • Editing footage to tell cohesive, focused stories that meet clients’ needs
  • Work with the internal team and support entrepreneurs to develop creative concepts and deliver projects as per brief
  • Review scripts to better understand video production requirements
  • Enter music, dialogue, graphics and visual effects as needed
  • Learn, create and implement new workflow processes as needed
  • Guarantee high production quality at all times
  • Maintenance of images and files. Archive / backup job.

Your experience

  • Over 3 years of experience as a video editor / motion designer
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work independently, problem solve, work well under pressure with exceptional time management skills
  • Excellent skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and video formats that work best for everyone.
  • Strong creative thinking, showcasing a range of diverse styles and techniques
  • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing time constraints while maintaining quality
  • Basic knowledge of color grading and sound editing
  • Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail
