Weather in London: Photos and videos show fog so thick you can barely see it in London

The fog in London this morning was pretty ridiculous. If you were to browse it, you’ll know what we mean.

It was so thick in parts of the capital that you could barely see a yard in front of you.

Photos show Oxford Street early this morning, quite empty on the first day of the lockdown, with fog so thick you can’t see very far down the road.

People are wrapped in warm clothes and cars and buses have their lights on to help them get through bad weather.

A video shot at Canary Wharf this morning also shows the gloomy weather.

Someone is filming from their apartment window and it honestly looks like they are filming in a cloud of smoke.

So, is this the start of a gray and gloomy winter?

Fortunately, the fog appears to be clearing and London will experience sunnier weather as the day progresses.

The Met Office predicts that “sunny intervals will turn cloudy in the afternoon.”

Temperatures hover between 7C and 9C and there is only a small chance of rain today.

So hopefully the weather should be less stressful, at least for the rest of the day.

We can’t guarantee the thick fog won’t return, but for now Londoners can soak up the sun, even if it is quite chilly.
